Our Account Executives assume ultimate service responsibility for our customers, with each Account Executive having benefit industry experience ranging from 6 to 24 years. Bob Crews

Bob joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 1999. He began his career at CIGNA Healthcare in 1984. From 1984 to 1998, he progressed to the level of Senior Underwriter in their Group Health Benefits division. He had financial responsibility for approximately 35 employer groups ranging in size from 150 to 5,000 employees. During this time, he gained extensive experience working with alternative funding arrangements and managed care products. In 1988 he moved to Vermont to manage Cigna’s Vermont Sales and Service operations, assisting large employer groups with the design, funding strategy, and implementation of their benefit programs. He also assisted the corporation with development of their underwriting training programs for the field sales force. Bob was a contributing author to “Taking Charge of Your Healthcare,” a resource guide produced by the Vermont Business Roundtable. He has served as Chairman of the Health Care task force for the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Bob serves on the Board of directors for The Stern Center for Language and Learning, a non-profit educational resource for schools, children and adults of all ages. He received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in 1984. |

Dain joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 2006 as director of their small business solutions segment. Dain is responsible for coordinating delivery of HBGB’s services to Vermont-based businesses comprised of 1 to 50 employees, and works with small employers throughout Vermont. Prior to joining HBGB she spent nineteen years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, where most recently, she was responsible for helping small businesses with design, pricing and implementation of health benefit solutions. She also served as part of the Employee Association, in which she raised funds for local organizations and planned employee events. She received education in Business Management at Champlain College. |

Dan Johnson

Dan joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 1988. He began his career in the Group Benefits business as an Account Executive for Home Life Insurance Company of New York in 1982. During his 6 years there, Dan completed formal underwriting contracts and benefits design training. As an Account Executive, he was responsible for growing Home Life’s clientele in the New York City market. In this capacity, he assisted employers with design, funding strategy, and implementation of their benefit programs. In addition to consulting, Dan leads the Vermont Benefits Survey initiative. He is a member of the Vermont Business Roundtable Healthcare committee and serves as a board member of the Vermont Program for Quality Health Care (VPQHC). He received his undergraduate degree from Holy Cross College in 1982. |

Michael Kilfoyle

Michael joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 2007 and serves as the firm's Director of Marketing and Operations. From 1997 to 2007, he spent the majority of his time (10 years) with Combined Services LLC, an employee benefits firm based in Concord, New Hampshire, where he also served on the management team. He was responsible for new business sales, service and retention in the Northern New England market. Michael worked with employers helping them with design, funding strategy, and implementation of group benefit programs. In addition to his group benefits experience, Michael has served as Director of Technology for a large non-profit and has held various management positions in finance and human resources. Prior to moving to Vermont, he served on the Board of Directors for the Lakes Region Community Services Council, a community based organization supporting families and individuals with developmental disabilities, acquired brain disorders and other conditions. Michael received the designation of Registered Health Underwriter from American College and holds an MBA and a BA from Plymouth State University. |

Tom Rugg

Tom joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 2001.Tom’s original duties centered on financial management of some of the firm’s largest accounts. In this capacity, he developed expertise with alternative funding arrangements, financial analysis, and plan design modeling. He has since become an Account Executive with lead responsibility for medium and large size clients in the firm, consulting with them on benefit strategy, design, and implementation. Prior to joining Hickok and Boardman, Tom spent several years in the Washington, DC, office of Senator Jim Jeffords. He also worked as a lobbyist for one of the nation’s largest agricultural associations. In addition to his work with Hickok & Boardman, Tom serves as Trustee on the Board of the Lund Family Center and also served as the Chair of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee from 2004 to 2006. He is also an active participant in local roundtable discussions on the topic of Consumer-Driven Health Plans. Tom graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in 1992, and also received his MBA from the University of Vermont with a specialty in Finance in 2001. |

| Health Management and Wellness |

Lori Smith

Lori joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 2008 as their Health Management and Wellness Consultant. Lori helps clients improve the coordination of their health management and wellness initiatives with their overall benefit strategy, resulting in a more fully integrated approach in the areas of plan design, communication and measurement of success. Prior to joining HBGB, Lori served as Corporate Liaison for Community Health Improvement at Fletcher Allen Health Care. She has been advising companies on wellness and health management initiatives for fifteen years and has worked in the health care industry in various roles since 1985. Lori currently serves on the Vermont Blueprint for Health’s Employer Work Group Subcommittee for Wellness and is a member of the Burlington Business Association Board of Directors. She also volunteers to help manage the Ronald McDonald House and chairs The Friends of CVU parent organization. Lori graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Physical Therapy.

Sally McKenzie

| Sally joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 1999 as a Client Service Specialist and in 2002 was promoted to Senior Client Service Specialist. She assists the firm’s clients with benefit plan design and implementation, compliance and contract and financial review. Prior to joining HBGB, Sally worked in a variety of human resource management positions in Louisiana, Florida and Vermont where she utilized her management and leadership skills to develop employees and implement policy and strategic objectives. Sally also has an extensive accounting background and experience in both the hospitality and economic industries, which allows her to provide clients with a broad perspective on their employee benefit initiatives. Sally is an active participant in her community where she serves as a board member of the Rebuilding Together Greater Burlington and donates her time to the Vermont Special Olympics and the United Way. In 2006, Sally was nominated for the United Way Volunteer of the Year award. Sally graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) with a degree in Business Administration in 1986. |

| Kelley joined HBGB in July of 2002. She has over 15 years of group benefits experience, including working as a Client Account Representative for a third party administrator where she helped manage group benefit plans for employers throughout New England. Kelley has an extensive background in small group account sales, service and administration and currently works with larger groups with whom she utilizes her strong technical skills to implement benefit solutions and manage compliance issues. Kelley has donated her time to the Vergennes Lions Club, United Way of Chittenden County and also has served as a board member for the Champlain Valley Association of Insurance Professionals, where she served on the safety committee. Currently Kelley volunteers in the position of Secretary for the US Army Reserve, Family Readiness Group, HHC 302nd Maneuver Enhanced Brigade Unit. Kelley received an Associates Degree in Business from Champlain College. |

Marci Taks

| Marci joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in January, 2002. Originally responsible for implementing web-based technology solutions to HBGB clients, Marci now serves the firm as a Client Service Specialist where she continues to play a key role in implementing the firm’s technology initiatives. Prior to joining HBGB, Marci spent nine years in San Francisco, where she worked at a human resources consulting firm, recruiting information technology professionals for Fortune 500 companies. In addition to her duties at HBGB, Marci is an active participant in volunteer work with organizations such as the March of Dimes, the Red Cross and the United Way of Chittenden County. Marci attended the University of South Florida where she majored in Business Administration. |

| Lisa joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 2003 as the Group Benefits Administrative Assistant. In addition to supporting the firm’s Account Executives and Client Service Specialists, Lisa served as Project Coordinator for the Vermont Employee Benefits Survey. In 2007, Lisa was promoted to the role of Client Service Specialist for the firm’s Small Group divison where she helps provide solutions to clients with up to 50 employees. Lisa is currently working toward her degree in Business Management and is very involved in community service, donating her time to the American Red Cross, Vermont Special Olympics and the Lake Champlain Committee. |

| Victoria joined Hickok & Boardman Group Benefits in 2007 and serves as the firm’s Vermont Employee Benefits Survey Project Coordinator. She has an extensive background in technology and assists the firm in many of its technology and marketing initiatives. Victoria has donated time to the United Way, volunteers as an internet safety advocate and serves as a moderator on several connect-safely websites. |
